With XFai being a service provider that requires the execution of complex smart contracts, one of the main issues their users face is high transaction fees. As part of our partnership with XFai, ChronoLogic brings a solution to this problem by rolling out Automate.

In this article, we’ll go over the details of how to add the Automate RPC network to Matamask. If you’re interested in learning more about how to save gas on XFai using Automate, please refer to this article.

Sign up to Automate

Before you get started, please make sure you’re logged into your Metamask wallet.

  1. Your experience starts at farm.xfai.com where you click the Click to connect link at the top to initiate the process.

Another way of doing that and connecting to Automate would be to click the following link https://automate.chronologic.network/?utm_source=xfai

2. You’ll then be redirected to automate.chronologic.network where you need to create an account by entering your Email and Password.

3. Once done, click Submit.

4. Next, the Connection Settings screen will appear. Since one of the main purposes of using Automate is to cut gas costs, the Gas price aware box is checked by default.

5. In case you would like to keep your transactions drafted before being broadcast to the network, check the Draft mode box. It allows you to specify additional conditions before executing your transactions.

N.B.: Using the Draft mode, for example, you can set up the exact time for your transaction to be triggered. Also, by specifying the exact Amount Condition for an asset, your transaction can be broadcast to the network only when there is a sufficient amount of that asset in your wallet.

6. Estimated Confirmation Time is the time you are willing to wait until your transaction meets the specified gas price criteria. Our algorithms analyze historical gas prices in real time to best propose a gas price for you. Longer wait times generally correspond to cheaper gas prices. Since we cannot control the Ethereum network, this is NOT a guaranteed confirmation time. For most users, 24 hours seems to be a reasonable time to wait. But if during this time slot gas price doesn’t drop below the price you’re willing to pay, then a transaction doesn’t get sent.

7. Once you’re done with your connection setup, click Connect to Automate.

8. You’ll be prompted to add the Automate network configuration to your Metamask by copypasting the values presented below.

To do that, you can quickly access your Networks by pasting the URL below in the new tab of your browser.

chrome-extension://nkbihfbeogaeaoehlefnkodbefgpgknn/home.html#settings/networks

A new tab will open the full-screen view of your Metamask. It will come in handy when you copypaste the values.

9. Alternatively, you can click the Three dots icon in your Metamask next to the account name and choose Expand view from the dropdown menu.

10. Now, navigate to the Networks Settings by first clicking My Accounts at the top-right and choosing Settings from the menu.

11. Then, choose Networks from the vertical menu on the left and click Add Network.

Copy the suggested network settings from an Automate pop-up window and paste them to their respective inputs in Metamask. The name of your network could be whatever you want, and you can have as many networks as you need.

12. Click Save and close the Metamask tab.

13. Click OK in the Automate pop-up window to close the dialog.

In case you haven’t already connected to Metamask, you’ll be prompted to do that. Choose any Metamask account you would like to proceed with and click Connect.

N.B.: No payment or fee is associated with this request.

In Metamask, you’ll see that you are now operating on the Automate network that you’ve just added. You can switch it back to Ethereum Mainnet or any other network anytime as you normally do.

14. Done. You are now connected to Automate and can start saving on gas fees! Click Go to XFai to start using the XFai farming interface.
